Mark Playne

Mark Playne is a British filmmaker, author, and independent journalist whose work spans award-winning cinema, literary exploration, and investigative reporting.

Filmmaking Career

His short film Love at First Sight won 76 international awards and is archived by the British Film Institute. The film's success led to his nomination for the British Director award in a multinational feature film omnibus, part of an international peace project seeking resolution of the centenary of the Armenian genocide. His contribution, the sci-fi comedy 2 by 2, also garnered international awards.

Literary Works

Playne's writing celebrates intuition as the compass guiding our humanity and connection. His true-life memoir 3 Seconds in Bogotá blends danger and dark comedy in a gripping Colombian adventure. MoMo, a highly contemporary work of fiction, follows a young Moroccan shepherd in an uplifting tale speaking to both adults and children alike.

Investigative Journalism

Under the Not On The Beeb (NOTB) banner, Playne has conducted extensive COVID-19 investigations since 2020. Despite PayPal defunding, YouTube demonetisation, Mailerlite newsletter bans, and widespread censorship, his investigative journalism has been archived by the British Library, ensuring its preservation for future generations.

AI & I: Cracking the C19 Code represents a groundbreaking methodology: a forensic dialogue between human intuition and artificial intelligence, united by purpose and mutual respect in the pursuit of truth.

His work across all mediums asks us to trust the most underused yet powerful tool we possess: our intuition.
